@ bkumar

instead you have to say: Unlike that of most ..., the gender of ...

No way without reference.

replace 'those' & read...

Unlike "the male and female blue-winged warblers" in most warbler species, the male and female blue-winged warblers are very difficult to distinguish.

Comparision of "the male and female blue-winged warblers in most warbler species" with "the male and female blue-winged warblers", sounds awakward.

OA / OE PLS

My original guess was A as well.....Vivek, could you kindly explain?

Is it because A) is comparing "warbler species" to "warbler"? And E) compares "warbler" to "species of warbler"?

Well, 'A' compares entire warbler species to male & female warblers! It doesn't sound correct.

I don't think it is 'plural' to 'singular' comparision that kicks out 'A', it is comparing 'plural' to 'plural'.

Faculty comparison

C or E

I would go with C, comparing males and females of most Warbler species with males and females of the blue-winged warblers

I got E.
Why not A: if the sentence was - Unlike most warbler species, the blue-winged........ OR
Unlike the male and female of most warbler species, the male and female blue-winged.....
then it would have sounded fine

Why not C: Unlike those in .... I am not to comfortable with this 'in'. I would prefer it to be 'of' or something ..i think

E. for right parallelism.
