A,B, E out since they make improper comparisons

C uses "a new theory for the extinction of the dinosaurs " - for makes the scentence unclear

so D

Unlike previous hypothesis should modify "a new thoeory".

D is more concise than C.

hepotheses should be parallel to a theory, not to the paleonthological circles.
