I would go for B.

Shortlist B and C. B is parallel and clear. In C " wasting...when going.." sounds unidiomatic.

A is wrong because you're comparing "that of human beings" to hibernating bears, not the same thing.

C is wrong because you have "wasting away" and "exist", they should be in the same tense.

D is wrong for the same reason as C.

not really sure between B and E, iwould go for B because E sounds wrong.

E also lacks verb:

....when without food....

B corrects it:

....when go without food....

It boils down to B and C because you have to compare like with like, in this case: human beings to bears

I choose B, although i cant really say why C is wrong

Its B....

D and E are just wordy....Don't understand what "that' is refering to in A...
Between B and C, you need "who" to modify "human Beings"...

B -> "that" is not necessary when comparing human beings and bears.

B.

A: compares the wrong things. that of human beings to bears--- Wrong.
C: should have who. wasting away when going is awkward.
D: dissimilar is not the correct use for contrasts here, like is much better. Who should be used after human beings.
E: lacking similarity does not contrast w/ bears correctly.
