For me, it seems simple, that the author compares energy from Coal, Gas and Nuclear energy to that from Solar. All these are obtained in a similar grounds. Meaning, one cannot produce energy from nuclear at home. Comparing Energy genereted thru coal etc.. with solar thru these plants.

If the cost of the production is so high that it does not seem economical for the family to opt for solar. What is the point if I have to pay a huge price, because it is non-pollutant. Is that the question that pops-out if the same is subjected to all of us.

Hence, choice C weakens the author's proposal the most.
