Clearly expresses the assumption

Does not express the conditional clause clearly

If clause in present tense, conditional clause must have will + base verb

(B) since the dependent clause with "should' is an unreal conditional, the independent clause should include "would......" (C) same as B. "were"...., ...........would.... (D) correct. it is just a conditional. so the tense is also correct. (E) too lenghty and woordy.

Actually this is a good question !! actually here main point is BETWEEN and AMONG usage ,BETWEEN wins since we comparing jobs and job seekers !!! hence only D and C left out ,again since assumption means one certain condition ,we rule out C and Go for D

What if one of the answer choices (excluding D) is "if the unemployement rate is four percent, there will be a rough balance between jobs and job seekers". Will the correct answer choice still be D?
