Update to adcom on funding for startup?

i know adcoms want to hear updates about big changes to your profile -- promotions, new test scores or grades, big extracurriculars -- but what about when the startup you work for (and are a limited partner/angel investor in) receives an initial seed round for over 1mm for a minority stake in the company less than a year after the company was founded? is there a best way to go about phrasing this in your email to the adcom to announce this change? i think its big and work related (esp for smaller startups) but i wanted to check...

Company achievements can be great, but it depends on how much you can tie them in with your role in this change. If it's something, for example, in which you really weren't involved yourself (or as a team) it probably won't hold much interest, and vice versa. Essentially, the larger a role you played in your firm's success, the more effective your story will be.
