They also sent me an email, saying they will be here in Chicago for get together of applicants, alumni, admission committee members etc. I don't think i will go. I can't go, though it would have been nice to go.
here is the email:
I’m not sure if we’ve had the chance to meet, but I see that you have submitted an application to the Illinois MBA.
I wanted to let you know that we have planned a dinner in Chicago next week so that our Chicago-area applicants can get together to meet each other as well as a few of our Chicago-based alumni. Assistant Dean Darcy Sementi and I will be in attendance also. We would definitely enjoy having you at this dinner event. Here are the details:
Feel free to e-mail me if you would be able to attend this dinner. I’ll be sure to follow up by phone to see if you have any questions about the event.

i dont know unofficial scores but unofficial transcripts, yes. Official scores are a must for every college i guess. I reported my scores the moment i decided on the colleges i'll be applying in round 1. I reported in september.

This is just a formal invite to an event because they our coming near you. I got a similar one as well when Associate Dean Stig Lanesskog came to India. It turned out that he was also taking a few interviews so i gave my interview then itself. My application was also a part of the usual application process so i also got a skype interview invite. They mixed up somehow. But the interview opportunity was mentioned in the event invitation mail. It doesnt seem the same in your case in this email.

Finalized UIUC .....Who all will be matriculating this fall??
wow! Nice! I guess you took the plunge. Well, i don't know if i will go to UIUC, my file will be complete this week. I sent them the scores last week, the last piece of the file that was missing.
Did they offer you a sweet scholarship? I'm an Illinois resident, and i will only go to UIUC if they offer me a 'hard to refuse' scholarship. If they don't give that, i'm postponing starting my jd/mba by one year. The time during which i will make my file sweeter... This is how my file looks, so far:
1. published author. 2. BA -Biology; GPA 2.5 (Grinnell College) 3. GRE V163, Q151, AW4.5.... about equal to 630 GMAT 4. Masters in Public Health (MPH); GPA = 3.71 5. Masters in International Relations; GPA = 3.91 6. Full time work experience = 5 years, fortune 1000 firm, in operations/research. 7. Masters Bioethics & Health Policy = GPA 3.76, halfway done. 8. A minority, an international student until recently, interested in leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry, with a view to brunch to finance with the World Bank, etc.
As it is, the file is good. however, if i do end up applying next year,
1. will apply early action 2. will have published my second book (fiction) 3. I will write the GMAT instead of the GRE, push my score to 700.
Anyway, that is the plan. i'm interested in a jd/mba.
