Urgent Advice on Kaplan GMAT, 2007 Edition: Premier Program! [#permalink]
24 Nov 2006, 10:36
Hi,
I would love advice on the Kaplan Gmat book. I've read a few reviews from high scorers who found the math on the kaplan book really helpful but not so much the English. I am quite comfortable with the OG not so with the challenges yet. My test is 7 days away. I have time to prepare though, so would really appreciate advice on if the Kaplan book is worth while. Time isn't a concern for me, as much as if the material is useful in improving the score.
Also there are quite a few Kaplan books - which is the most useful?
Many thanks!

I found both the math and the verbal are useful.
what is not good is their CAT tests in the CD.
but the materials in the book is quite good.
if you only have 7 days left, go for Kaplan 800 latest edition. It is very good for Verbal, because I didn't find the math in the book difficult.

Is this the same book where Kaplan gives a CD with a few CAT Tests?

the one with CAT cd is the Premier book, which has strategies for each GMAT section and practices. it is like the PR book, a full content book.
The CAT, as everyone here said, is not that good. but I did all of them, the scores are not important. you may choose not to do it at all.
GMAT 800 is another book without CD. it only deals with difficult questions.

a full paper-based test, and those chapter tests.
several CD-based practices for all sections such as DS, RC,, not full tests.
4 full CATs.
Actually there is an online CAT as well after registration. I haven't done it, so i can't comment how the quality is.
so totally you have 5 full CATs from Premier program 07.
