I'm only in my last year of college, but I'm pretty sure I want to get an MBA. I know I need work experience before an MBA program. I'm a black male and will graduate with a BA in Economics with a minor in Global Culture & Commerce from UVA with a 3.1-3.2 GPA. My major GPA is around a 3.0 as well. I had a huge upward trend in my GPA, with a 2.5 gpa my first year of school and Dean's list my last two semesters. I have good grades in my Quantitative classes and upper level Econ classes as well.
My last year of college I will be a Loan Officer for undergraduate and graduate students at UVA as well for emergency loans of upto $600, and manage a $100,000 fund.
I am also working for a social networking site that I plan on working with after graduation with whatever work experience I have after college.
If I can get some good work experience (I haven't graduated yet) and can get a 700 on the GMAT, what do you think my chances are at the following schools?
If you can show leadership and impact at work and you end up with around a 700 GMAT (and the scores don't go up significantly form their levels today), then I believe you would have a competitive profile for all the schools on your list. Harvard
, and Kellogg
would be the least likely acceptances, but you would have a chance at all.
