i recently got accepted into the MAcc program. I am still waiting to hear back from Fin.Aid office so that I can make my final decision.

as someone mentioned above, i really think the essay is key, especially if your grades aren't stellar.
i have a 3.1 gpa. my gmat score was below 650. but i worked my butt of to write the best essay that I could and get good recommendations from reliable people (my current boss; and undergrad professor). if your undergrad gpa doesn't cut it, then you just have to shine in other areas. so don't give up even if you're gpa is mediocre.

i had my interview on a friday and heard back the following wednesday.

Congratulations!

I am not sure about USC adcom's standard procedure on notifying accepted applicants after the interview. In the past, the fastest response I saw in this forum was about a week after the interview.

As a reference, other members in this forum who applied to MBA programs had similar issues. They decided to just pay for the deposit (which they must forfeit if they choose to withdraw later on) and wait for the other school. I am not sure if you want to go down this road.

Hey everyone,

looks like this forum has really slowed down but is anyone still waiting for a decision? I figure I didn't get in because I haven't even been invited for an interview yet but I will try again next year. Seems like they are very behind on grad applications this year...

Unless expressly told otherwise, always go with business professional (suit)... and ALWAYS bring a copy of your resume. Even if I'm told an interview is "casual", I try to at least wear nice, professional clothes. If your chance of acceptance relies on it, why not always put your best foot forward?

It doesn't hurt to overdress a bit... however, under-dressing can suggest that you don't take the program seriously.

The interview, seemed pretty relaxed, mostly why USC over other programs? a couple questions about your resume and career goals.

The interview is my weakest area and I am scared. I'm making a dry run to USC in about 5 hours so that I'm familiar with the campus.

My stats:

3.638 cumulative gpa
3.905 major gpa (economics, ucsd); econ3 TA for 2 quarters.
700 gmat, 5 awa
i think my 2 recommendations are pretty good
interview: TO BE DETERMINED :!: dun dun dunnnnn

USC is the only school i've applied to. this is do or die basically. i'll let you guys know of my defeat/victory.

Those are fairly good stats. Yah, the Cum GPA could be a little higher (GPAs count *a lot* for both MSAcc and Big4). Yah, USC Marshall is Top10. But you're in the ballpark >> a solid interview coupled with compelling essays and stories should seal the deal. Your resume / GPA / scores are just one part of the package >> 2/3 speak for themselves (major GPA, Gmat) at this point. The main thing is to now sell yourself to the program -- keep confidence up, know the program cold and know what you want to get out of it, and go in with your head held high.

He doesn't have to sell anything, did you even look at the class profile? He's above average in all stats.

I looked at this thread last year and I was pretty confident to get into USC at that time. But I guess I just overestimated myself. Real life is not the case at all.

Good luck to all your guys applying this year! USC MAcc and MBT is alot more competitive to get into nowadays than when I applied, which was not that long ago! I was just reading the Leventhal Alumni Newsletter and it said that for the Class of 2010 they got over 700 applicants to fill a total of about 150 spots for the MAcc and MBT Full Time Programs. And this year's number of applicants is projected to be higher than last year.
