USC vs Irvine with $$$ [#permalink]
28 Apr 2010, 22:17
I have been accepted to the USC and UC irvine MBA programs. I realize that USC has a great national network and overall UCI doesn't compare to USC, but I am receiving 30K from UCI which is starting to make me think. I am curious if the 95K+ USC program is worth it vs. now a 30K program from UCI? I would like to enter in to finance/consulting after I graduate.
Thanks for your input.

UCI is coming up, it is proving to be the OC's UCLA, check the class profiles. Now with that being said looking at their income levels (assuming it is all true) is about the same.
If you are going to NY to do finance, go USC, if you are staying in the LA area, UCI is not a bad option...

That's tough...
If you are going to stay in LA you might just go with UCI-- it is really well known in socal and is moving up in the ranks. It is a SUPER small school though, and doesn't have much of a sense of alumni pride. USC on the other hand has an insane alumni network, but 95k is intense (it's no Wharton/HBS). My theory is to just visit both schools and see where you are more comfortable and confident. USC will have more active recruiting than UCI just due to size alone.
