Where are you from? Where do you want to work after graduation? Or are you planning to go straight into a PhD program after the MACC?

PhD programs care a lot about your research aptitude. So if you're guaranteed a lot of research at USC, I would definitely go for that. Plus, Los Angeles, as a city, provides more opportunities than Austin. Rank won't matter so long as you can get professors to vouch for you.

Where in the Middle East are you from?

Yeah, sadly (given my avatar) I think USC might be the better choice. Can't go wrong though because both universities are very productive in research. I know that there are RAs here, but I don't think many MACCs get them.

Most professors I've talked to though say that PhDs in accounting usually work in public for a bit before starting the PhD program. Just something to keep in mind :-)
