Which article would be correct in the following sentences:
1.The program featured (a, the, zero) famous baritone XYZ.
2. (A, the, zero) famous baritone XYZ was featured in the program.

Grammatically you need an article (zero isn't an option), but you could use either A or The in the sentences - the ordering doesn't make a difference. The choice of article does make a difference in meaning though:

If we are talking about a group of famous baritones we would use A: The program featured A famous baritone from Seville. (one of the many famous baritones)
If we are talking about a specific baritone we would use THE: The program featured THE famous baritone from Seville. (a recognized individual as the most famous)
