Use old essay question to get a head start on apps? [#permalink] New post 06 Jul 2011, 09:20
The next couple of months will be incredibly hectic for me. I have to study and take the gmat,....as well as complete the applications in time for an early submittal (I would like to have my apps submitted by mid September). I want to get a head start on the essays. MIT is not releasing their application until the end of this month. Should I get started on the last year's essay
s as a template? Do the essays change that much from year to year?

Essays typically don't change and when they do, they change...a lot. But it's almost a guarantee for questions such as why MBA and why this school. Whether explicitly stated or insinuated, you'd have to discuss these two questions. So ya, it just may be good to start, BUT I would only do it as a good way to start gathering your thought, instead of thinking about finishing your application (otherwise, it's such a big discouragement should the prompts be different).
