UT Austin Vs Notre Dame [#permalink]
22 Mar 2006, 15:02
Hello, I have been offered admission at both austin and notre dame and am having a very hard time deciding between the two. Both cost the same, seem to have the same kind of placement scene, same kind of program. From the point of view of an international student, which one do you think would be a better pick, seeing as how both universities are highly reputed.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

I would go to Notre Dame. It is an elite school all around and has a brand name that you can't beat. Though, going to Texas would definitely be more fun and it has better weather.

I think it is a pretty close call. Notre Dame as an institution has a great name but Texas and Notre Dame have similar reputations when it comes to accounting. Notre Dame has the advantage of proximity to Chicago while the University of Texas is the strongest accounting program in the region.

Thanks Wolverine and Hjort for replying. I have nearly made up my mind, just waiting for the aid issue to decide the whole issue for me

I am currently a student in the UT MPA program, if you have any specific questions I would be happy to answer them. I know there are two guys from Norte Dame undergrad that decided to come to UT, so if you have any questions for them I can pass them along. I had the same decision to make so I know where you are coming from.
