uva decision deferral [#permalink]
01 Mar 2010, 18:29
I just got the decision from UVA, which says the admissions committee has decided to defer the decision on my application. I am wondering if anyone else has ever had the same situation. Is it kinda like a rejection or I still have chance to go into this school? Does anybody know what kind of addtional evidence that I need to provide to the admissions committee? UVA is my dream school, I really want to be admitted.

I applied for UVA too, but I do not see a letter posted on my application page online. Did you receive a physical letter or did you find a letter on your application page?

I am in the Feb round. Today I got an email from UVA saying my decision is available. You may view your decision by logging into your application status page, and clicking on the "Your Decision is Now Available Online" link at the bottom of the page. Hope you have a good luck:)

I emailed Cathy and hope she will give me some advice on how to improve my application. BTW, I submitted my applicationi on Jan.31, right before the Feb 1 deadline, so I would expect you will get your decision very soon.

I'm guessing it means that they'll consider you for admission if enough people from earlier decisions reject. I applied for the December deadline, and originally they wanted my decision by February 19... however, I asked for an extension until they gave me my financial award information, and they allowed it.
So I'm guessing they're waiting to hear from December/January decision offers first, so they have an idea of how many are going to be enrolled. I bet only highly competitive apps got admitted off the February deadline.

I will try my best to do something to get in. Thank you
