hey ppl,
pls guide me to the very best books and materials for studying verbal...... coz i figure out that i m miserable in verbal.......and i want to improve the same......

I would suggest you go through The Princeton Review's "Grammar Smart". It is a concise grammar guide, which will help you get started on grammar for SCs. I also use "Office Guide to business English" from Arco in my day to day work.

Grammar Smart is definitely a good one. I have it too and am keeping it after the whole process is over, because it's helpful for essays and general writing. Nice reference guide.

I would also recommend getting a verbal practice book. I have PR's Verbal Workout. It has about 200 practice question along with strategies for each question type. Thumbs up!

thanx for the advice.........
ive been doin some more searchin for the verbal material on this forum..... and have found only 3 books (arco, manhattan and pr verbal) to be discussed the most.... but i cant figure out that which ONE should i buy....... pls help me....

I have them and think they are EXCELLENT.

For Reading comp, I think their strategy will blow you away. It's amazing how well it works. If for no other reason, the price of the books is worth it for this strategy.

For SC, they cover a lot of material and a lot of ground and I think they do a pretty good job.

For CR, I think they strategies are no better than anyone elses - but I also dont think theres any real way to teach this - i mean, either, you are good at this kind of logic, or you are not...
