Dear accomplished GMATers

IS it possible to get a good verbal score of 45+ by just reading the OG guides for Verbal

the reason i ask is this:

All the other material i find out there is basically as close as they get to the real GMAT verbal questions .

Since Verbal is all about "BEST ANSWER" unlike quant where there is an airtight answer out there i am not comfortable with some of the anwers in the commercial verbal books availble and the explnantions are not convincing enough or its just plain tangential to my understanding of CR / RC theory.

Also can any one suggest which is the best verbal book that comes close to the verbal OG guide

thanks for your response

cheers

The Verbal OG Guide is for practice. To master the concepts/logic behind the questions you need a good guide. MGMAT SC and Powerscore CR are highly rated by most members in this forum. As for RC, there's no specific guide as such. Read through the Verbal books guide on the forum. You'll get a good idea. Keep the OG for practice. Not for concepts.

yeah

Manhattan series, OG 11th & 12th , and Kaplan Premier should be your top 3 picks.
