Verbal Strategy - Prepration help needed [#permalink] New post 09 Mar 2010, 16:55
Situation:
I took the Kaplan GMAT Test (premier live) & performed very badly in the Verbal. Out of 41 questions I could attempt only 37 (in the given time) out of which I got 16 wrong (8 SC,6 RC, 3 CR) . I know I am week in the verbal section & have only practiced 150 questions in the Kaplan live. I still have OG12 left, but now that I know that my concepts are not very strong I don't want to waste the questions in OG. I want to work on my concepts first.

Here is my Self assessment:
I find sentence correction really hard & the questions take a lot of time. RC has always been my Achilles heel. I am comfortable with CR though, the strategies in Kaplan are good & I think I can do well with more practice.

Action Plan:
I am planning to buy MGMAT RC, MGMAT CR & Powerscore CR. However, I am confused because these books do not have enough practice questions (as from what I got to know by reading different posts on the forum).

Is this the right move , is the book selection OK?

Please advice!!!!

Thanks
Shane

I would suggest MGMAT RC, MGMAT SC, MGMAT CR or Powerscore CR.

The MGMAT does not come with enough practice question so it is essential to buy OG12 and OG Verbal as well. Pretty much everyone on this forum will tell you MGMAT SC is a must!
