Hello, I only recently found about gmatclub through Reddit. My GMAT is scheduled for 29th March, just 4-5 days away...
My practice tests so far have been, in chronological order:
1) Kaplan Online -> 680 (2 weeks ago)
2) GMATPrep -> 690 (last week)
3) Kaplan Online -> 710 (today)
My lowest Quant score to date was 48, I think. In GMATPrep test, it said Q50 V32 (if I remember correctly).
I have noticed that I finish Quant and Verbal sections WAYYY ahead of time - Kaplan Quant took me around 70 min each on both tests, while GMATPrep took just 60 min.
And what's worse, Verbal sections get over for me in less than an hour! Today I tried my best to slow down and managed my best time at 59 min.
I am planning to keep my second GMATPrep test for Wednesday, 27th March. In the meantime, I'm only practising Verbal questions: CR, RC and SC. I'm trying to improve in Verbal by at least 5 points, so that I stand a fighting chance to achieve 720+ even if I do not do as well as I have till now in Quant in the actual test.
I've read the guide (how-to-go-to-v40-from-v30) and it points me to
MGMAT SC/CR/RC for Verbal, which I do have.
I also have the
OG Review, which I have almost finished and seem to have good accuracy with. But somehow my Verbal confidence is quite low (as evident from today's test; Quant percentile 98 and Verbal only 48, leading to 710 as per Kaplan).
Any pointers to help me with Verbal in the few days that I've left are most welcome.
I know that it's probably quite late to start anything new, but I have all the time to myself, and therefore can put in several hours a day to practice.
I also need some review about
MGMAT online test. I have only 1 free test, but I need to know whether
MGMAT will give an analysis of my score, with correct answers wherever applicable, at least as good as Kaplan does. I found after my GMATPrep test that I couldn't review the questions which I went wrong in, so was pretty pissed since I seemed to think that my test didn't go as bad as the scores suggest.
I plan to take it some time before my final GMATPrep test, and also a Kaplan test (i.e. 3 more practice tests: 1
MGMAT, 1 Kaplan and finally 1 GMATPrep), hopefully that'll be a good idea. The reason I'm taking 3 tests is to try and manage my time properly in Verbal. It's no use if I rush through it; if I pace it well even a few questions can make a small difference in points, right?
Any general advice for preparation/exam day also welcome.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Just took the
MGMAT practice test; skipping it all the way until I reached Verbal. Scored 35 as per the Review Screen. As usual, finished the test in just 43 min.
