Verification of EC [#permalink] New post 03 Mar 2010, 00:26
Hi All,

I'd read in one of the posts that some applicants have been caught faking EC activities (Community service among others). This brings up two questions in my mind -
1. How do the schools verify the authenticity of EC? To what extent they go to
establish the same (in interview or by other means)?

2. There could be certain activities for which one might not have a certificate of sorts. In that case, should they be listed in the appln / spelt out in interview?

Req our folks to throw some light on the same.

Why do you even want to know this? If your EC's are legit, then there's nothing to worry about; if you faked them, then I'm certainly not going to tell you how to avoid detection. In either case, it's moot. I don't know what you're looking for here. Besides, only people associated with admissions would know this, and I seriously doubt they would tell you their methodology for sniffing out cheaters.

Obviously the point was not on whether or not to cook up details !!

But on understanding what members feel that they should jot down
under EC :
Activities/affiliations with or without certifications or referral letters (OR)
ONLY those with certifications or referral letters.

thanks.

You can include EC's in either category.
