Very bad GMAT splits M50 V32, explain in optional essay? [#permalink] New post 03 Dec 2011, 11:35
Hi Stacy,

I have to bring up this miserable memory again and look for some expertise opinion.
I had very bad GMAT split: 680 with M50 V32. I got this in my first attempt. And I retook G twice after and scored roughly same score, yet V was even lower (very disappointed given I did so well in my practices)

Question is: do I need to say something in optional essay for my weak Verbal? (like English is a language not a test, my 8-year exp didnt come cheap and my english is very competent, something like this?)

I am a chinese national with 8 years experiences in English-speaking envt across asia-pacific (both studying since high school and working). I speak very decent English and possess great communication and presentation skills.
Just this test, I cannot conquer, SAD!!

I am applying LBS, finalizing my essays now.

Thanks all

Hi jackchu,

How was your score on the AWA section of the GMAT test? Admissions teams may be concerned about your low verbal score and fluency in English, and a high AWA score will help ease any concerns.

Thanks Stacy.

Got 5 for AWA (and 5.5 in my 3rd attempt). I studied in English and worked in global banks. Cannot this experience erase the possible concern on my fluency in English?
