When international students graduate from an MBA and decide to work for a US company, on what type of visa / arrangement will they be working? Moreover, are the spouses / SO allowed to work? Is there a difference between spouses and SO on that point of view?

hey audio

i think you need a h1b working visa to work here in US. and your spouse/so are not allowed to work~

Most international students will need to get sponsored for an H1-B visa, citizens of Mexico and Canada can get a TN visa.

Dependents of H1-B visa holds can qualify for an H-4 visa, which allows them to reside in the US, but not to work. Note, your dependents are only your children and your spouse, girlfriends/boyfriends don't count. They would have to arrange their own visas themselves.

You could start on an OPT which allows you to work for one year than your firm would sponsor and H1B and then a green card. It took me 5 years to get through the whole process from F1 to Green Card.
