Visiting Schools - Kellogg, Booth, MIT, HBS and ROSS [#permalink] New post 20 Apr 2011, 12:31
Hi,

I am visiting Booth and Kellogg on Friday... I have gone thru ALL the threads about visiting schools in this Forum..

My questions are:

Is there a slight chance that I can find any member from here -- who is current student and can meet me or help me with building tour !! Thanks a lot in advance.. I know its a short notice - but this miraclous help I can only expect from member here :):)

Next question - I have ordered my Bussiness cards and haven't received them yet, probability is I will not receive it by tomorrow morning when I leave for Chicago.. so is that OK? I am having my nervous breakdown.. :)

I will try to take notes - going to wear business casual -will try to meet as many students as I can .........Please let me know if I am missing something...

This is my first school visit and Booth is my TARGET school...so I am feeling a bit nervous about the outcome..

If anyone in Chicago and applying this year or got admitted to other schools already - if you can take sometime out to meet me - It will be awesome !!!

Thank you so much for all your help!!

is this an official visit? or just a walk around campus. If its official they will have tour guides for you. I dont think you need to be handing out your business card here. This is very informational no interview, etc. Ask whatever questions you have and be at ease. Unless you assault an adcom youre gonna be OK!

In general my suggestion would be to hang out in chat and in the booth thread to "meet" some of the current students and build relationships - that will go a long way.

BB is right (as usual!) go have fun, no need to be "on" right now. I wouldn't give out cards unless it was a genuine exchange. Visiting two schools, i see where you're coming from, but go have a blast. Imagine you do two interviews in a day! I did that (at an mba fair)

it was great .....information session at Booth was more general and most of the time they talked about the life at booth - housing/living etc.. they did cover some topics of app but not in detail.
Session at Kellogg was full of the Admission process and its details. Admission officer answered questions and gave information for complete 1 hr. More informative in terms of applications.

I liked Booth more as a school, students and over all program.. I liked Kellogg more when it comes to community and some specific programs.
