Vocab - Word Power Made Easy - Need advice [#permalink] New post 18 Jan 2012, 14:50
Hi Folks,

I have been going through some GRE prep material. After reading good reviews about ' Word Power Made Easy' i got my hands on this book. However, it's a second hand book and i don't know if it will be as applicable for the revised GRE.

It's not mentioned on the book which edition is it. Not sure if this book undergo any revision ? and if it's still as applicable?

I have 2-3 months to prepare for the GRE. Would 'Word Power Made Easy' suffice or should i get some other book on vocab. If yes, then pls suggest which one.

Best,
B

Word Power Made Easy is a good book for improving your vocabulary. It's not tailored for the GRE though, so you might want to club it with something like Princeton Review's Word Smart or Barron's Essential Words.

Nothing beats reading newspapers/ magazines such as the NY Times or The Economist on a regular basis. Remember to always stop and look up words that you are not familiar with. Get the definition, synonyms, sample sentences, and note them all down in a document/spreadsheet/notebook.
