Thank you for your membership with GMAT Club. Like this community? Interested in getting involved? We'd love to have you on board.

Forum Moderators are members of the community who volunteer their time to ensure that GMAT Club is an inviting and welcoming MBA Community.

GMAT Club community volunteers play a vital role in the success of our online community. They share insight and provide support to other members. They are also responsible for keeping conversations lively and on topic, ensuring that our members behave themselves and identifying and responding to the needs of the community.

Although Forum Moderation is a volunteer effort, there are a number of benefits to joining our team. First, there are significant (60%+) discounts on several test prep classes with GMAT Club partners, access to GMAT Club tests for you or your nominee, then access to the moderator-only forum with latest projects we are considering or working on (not yet publicly announced). Second - a leadership and community service credit. Third - gratification you'll feel from helping others and being critically important to our community, and more - you'll volunteer beside other team members at GMAT Club who share common interests, provide friendship and have fun -- we promise :)

Qualifications:
(Ideally a moderator would)
  • Be a member of GMAT Club for at least 3 months and have 200 posts.
  • Demonstrate a friendly and helpful nature.
  • Have a high comfort level with GMAT Club, the topics and the personalities of members.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Have the flexibility to check into GMAT Club frequently. Moderation typically only takes a few minutes, but it's good to be able to check three or four times during the day to see what's being asked and said.
  • Be familiar with posting, editing, and formatting posts.
  • Be willing to work for minimal kudos while taking abuse from users :).
  • Be able to commit to at least a 3-month period.

Application Process:
Please fill out this form and answer the following questions:
  • What is your username?
  • Which forum or forums would you like to moderate?
  • What makes you an expert of that field?
  • Are you affiliated with any GMAT-related companies, organizations, communities?
  • What (if anything) would you like to change about GMATClub?

Responsibilities:
  • Keep forum organized
  • Create and update Stickies
  • Welcome and Help new members
  • Keeping the content organized - merge posts, split topics, keep discussion on topic, delete spam, etc
  • And one more thing - keeping your forum - the best forum

Benefits
  • Deep discounts on GMAT Classes
  • Access to moderator only forum
  • Free books/gmat club tests, etc
  • Help from other moderators and eternal appreciation by members
  • Being a part of a great community & team

I am already done with my Toefl and GRE exams. So, I could be a moderator of the "Other exams" forum.

But anyway, i am yet to complete 200 posts.
So, may be later.

Hey bb,

I believe the above item should be opened to others also. Since there could be a lot of other people who would like to get involved. :|

You could open up new upcoming projects to those who have demonstrated some level of interest and involvement in the respective forums. Maybe also include some prerequisite like 300+ posts, xx number of kudos etc.

We always are - we ask for a minimum of 200 posts to make sure the person is a committed member (there are exceptions to those with high Kudos count or exceptional ideas, however).

Hey bb

Any exceptions to the 200 posts criteria, if someone's really interested?
