I am thinking about trying to volunteer as a part-time coach for high school (I was an NCAA Athlete). However, living and working in NYC, the closest schools near my home or work are Private Preparatory Schools. Of course, you have your privileged students there, but many students are on scholarship as well.

Would the admissions committee look unfavorably upon this, seeing as how I volunteered at a Private School, as opposed to a school in the inner city? Thanks.

It's better to contribute somewhere, than nowhere.
