VUE GMAT - Success with 690 [#permalink]
06 Jan 2006, 00:02
Friends,
I just took the Vue GMAT and scored a fairly decent 690.
Quant - 45
Verbal - 40
Total - 690
My first attempt was in early December and I scored 600. Then I found this AWESOME CLUB! In just a month, I have managed to increase my score by a whopping 90 points. Compared to the geniuses of laxie, Paul, gsr, Chris and other, 690 is just an average score. But I am really really very happy and I dont plan to take GMAT again EVER IN MY LIFE!!
A brief briefing:
1. No erasable boards - I was given SCRATCH PAPERS
2. Overall VUE is easier than ETS
3. Verbal is all about SCs. I got a total of 8 CRs out of which 4 were BFs. RCs were tough - astronomy, philosophy, Shakespear and WTO.
4. Quant was well represented - much easier than the ones we do it here.
I owe a huge thanks to the many great people here. I could not have done without you guys. My special thanks to rahulraao for those awesome 1000 docs and to HongHu and Wilfred for those amazing stickies. Thanks to HIMALAYA, gsr, Chris, andy, duttsit, nakib, vivek, laxie, giddi, and all others.
My heartfelt thanks to the founders of this club.

Good luck for apps.
Your hard word paid off
As you have taken tests under both ETS and Pearson, please share the differences between two for others.

Congrats!
Just one question.. you used "scratch papers" instead of erasable boards??
That seems to be good news?
Where did you do your test? Is this scratch paper a standard GLOBALLY or only in some particular countries?

Congratulation Jai Hind! 690 is great and it will certainly not be the reason you will be rejected by top b-schools. Do not be to hard on yourself and remember that mastering the GMAT, for most of us here, has nothing to do with being a genius; it is the result of hard work and dedication. Good luck with your applications.

Congratulation JAI HIND,
Can you please let us know your VUE experience in detail? I am also wondering what is the difficulty level difference between GMATPrep exams and the actual exam.
Your throughts are appreciated.
Thanks
