Hello Shimar,

Your GMAT is a bit low for your demographic as you surely know, but your profile also have many distinctive aspects, which you also surely know. And the 690 is not low in the sense of raising doubts about your abilities; just somewhat low for top program and particularly for Indian applicants.

Given the above, I’d consider your candidacy somewhat idiosyncratic – it doesn’t really fit into specific categories and it contains some potentially appealing elements that might spur some adcoms to overlook the modest GMAT. The idiosyncratic factor means that it’s hard to predict acceptance likelihood – it depends more than usual on “clicking” with some adcoms through your application (which is why it's a good idea to do a number of them).

As for whether to retake the GMAT -- higher is always better, but it depends on how sure you are of raising your score with a reasonable and feasible amount of effort. If you're not certain it can be done, you can better spend your time perfecting a good range of applications.

I would consider you a viable applicant to Cornell with the current GMAT – assuming you presented a stellar application. I’d consider it a very [ur=http://info.accepted.com/mba/where-you-should-apply/l]reasonable reach[/url]. I’d say ditto for your other planned programs. Kellogg would be a slightly higher but still reasonable reach, whereas Columbia and HBS would be very high reaches in my view (though for different reasons).

Hi Cindy,

Hope this message finds you well!

Thank you very much for the profile evaluation, it is truly very kind of you!

Just wanted to inform you, that I have retaken the GMAT today (2nd attempt), and have raised my score from 690 (Q-49, V-36), to 720 (Q-50, V-38). Please do let me know whether Columbia B.S and Kellogg are still considerable reaches? Also what would my chances be for the likes of Wharton and HBS as a Non-IT indian, with a work experience as General Manager in the Logistics & Relocation industry?

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!

Also wishing you and your loved ones happy holidays!
