Couple of application questions:

1) The salary information on the supplemental form should be annual or monthly?
2) In college, I took just 2 classes at a nearby community college to transfer the credits, do I need to submit this transcript?
3) I get the impression that resumes should usually be 1 page long, but UW states "up to 3", does this mean they are requesting for more details on there than what is normally required?

If anyone can clear my doubts, thanks!

1) I believe it should be annual. That's what I put on mine.
2) I would submit transcripts for every school you attended, just to be safe.
3) I went to an application workshop at UW and they said they want to learn as much as they can about your experience, so that means you can fill up three pages. It's not the same as a typical resume when applying for a job.

Hope that helps!

Nice to see a good showing for UW on here. Congrats and good luck to everyone who has received the R2 interview invitation!

Any R1 candidates open to sharing their interview experiences?

Had my interview yesterday with Tim Hossain and it was relatively pleasant and straightforward as far as MBA interviews go. The setting was pretty informal (hotel lobby) and he was very personable and tried to keep it a conversation rather than just firing off questions (though, it is still an interview, so much of it will still be you answering questions). No questions that were too left field, just the basics of why you're pursuing the MBA, what your strengths and weaknesses are, how you intend to make the jump from MBA to career, etc. Got some good advice specific to my situation when asking follow-up questions, so don't be afraid to ask those if you have them. Decisions are made via e-mail, no later than January 15th, so keeping my fingers crossed.

Again, good luck to all!

I just had my on-campus interview last week with Andy Chen. He was extremely pleasant and very easy to talk to, with his focus on whether or not I would be a good fit for Foster as a whole. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes with no curve balls thrown in; most questions were about my plans while enrolled and after graduation.

Good luck to everyone on their interviews!

jeliav and ModRos- Thanks for posting your interview experiences.

Just had my interview at a hotel in midtown NYC with Andy Chen and my experience was similar to jeliav's. Pretty comfortable, relaxed, no tough questions, and lasted just about 30 minutes total. At the start of the interview, he said that it would be conversational and that he was looking to see whether I would be a good fit for Foster and vice-versa.

He did mention that there was another candidate with complementary experience to mine- and that he thought we would make an interesting team if we were to become classmates. That thoughtfulness seems like a favorable sign to me!

Fingers crossed til Jan 15!

Aravind - regarding Seattle expect lots of rain and cool weather, but it is a wonderful city to explore. The food and arts are good and the natural beauty is tops in the country for a metropolitan area.

I just scheduled an interview in NYC on the 13th.

Along with ModRos, would be interested in hearing any R1 interview stories. I'm nervous about mine!

Anneb, are you interviewing with Erin Ernst? If so, I met her when I visited the campus and she's very nice -- personable and down to earth. She said that Foster interviews are pretty relaxed, they're not trying to grill you or throw curve balls, just want to get a sense of fit and personality.

My interview is on the 7th, so if nobody from R1 volunteers, I'll be sure to post a debrief. Good luck!

Hey ModRos, I'm interviewing with Andy Chen. Hopefully he's down to earth like Erin. A relaxed interview sounds good to me.

Good luck on the 7th!

I did my Foster interview back in early November (patiently waiting for the decision by December 15!) and it was pretty straightforward. I met with Andy Chen and he was super easy to talk to and very pleasant. My interview was really short (only about 20 minutes), but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Good luck to all of you!
