Weak Study Abroad GPA [#permalink] New post 24 Apr 2011, 21:39
Hello,

I am a prospective applicant for Deferred MBA admissions. I am currently still an undergraduate student.

I am studying abroad now at the National University of Singapore and due to the rigor of the classes here I expect to be getting B's and/or C's. My grades DO COUNT on my transcript back in my home university.

At my home university I am an accounting major and finance concentration. I am heavily involved and have a lot of unique experiences.

Currently i have a 3.9 GPA, i expect my GPA to go down to a low 3.8 after the grades from study abroad transfer back.

I was wondering if this is going to be a red flag on my application. I decided to use study abroad for the experience of culture and connect with people in SE asia. I am also helping some of the honors students here start a mentoring initiative for primary school kids here in Singapore. That takes up a lot of my time.

My question is would this affect my application in a negative way? I am applying for the 2+2 program.

Thanks for the insights!

I'm sorry to say this but you're asking a silly question. An application to Harvard, or any other school for that matter, is so much more than your stats especially when we're talking about a .1 difference between two near-perfect GPA scores.

Get a 700+ GMAT, run with your story, and see what happens. Good luck!
