I am one such prospect who is evaluating my options of doing a part-time MBA.

Here are some queries that linger around (as I begin to prepare for my GMAT).

1) Is a part-time MBA absolutely equal to a full-time one? Does it depend on the school/univ offering the program?

2) Does the university provide the same amount of assistance to PT students for placements as they provide to their FT students?

3) Is the bar for GMAT and the entire baggage of application the same as a FT applicant?

These are the classic PT MBA questions. They are best answered on a school by school basis.

1) It is difficult to say whether a PT and a FT MBA are absolutely equivalent. Many schools offer identical degrees in the sense that the degree that you officially receive is same regardless of the format of your classes. However, some people still view FT programs as more "real" than PT programs. Further, regardless of what the diploma says, recruiters can determine which program the job candidate was in.

2) Generally business schools provide more assistance to FT students. There does appear to be a trend toward extending more services to PT students.

3) GMAT scores for PT programs tend to be somewhat lower than for the FT program of a given school. Often the work experience requirements are higher for PT programs.

I am not sure if anyone already asked this question (they must have).

Does the executive MBA program have any drawbacks over a conventional program?
