Hello,

can someone advise me if I have any chances to get into Wharthon EMBA program.

Here is my stats:

GMAT: 640 (2nd attemp), 630(first attempt)
MS from IIT Kanpur with GPA 9.54/10
BS GPA 9.1/10
Work experience: 11+ yrs in IT

My only concern is GMAT. The average score for admitted applicants is 680-690. Not sure if my score is a red flag.

Any thoughts/experiences ?

Thanks,
Kris

I've heard that the GMAT is not as big of a deal for the part-time and executive programs. In those intstances, it seems more about work experience. Just what I've heard. Anyone else?

Unfortunately, the folks on this forum have been geared much more toward full-time programs.

I checked out the Wharton EMBA program a while back. The admissions director told me that while a 700+ GMAT is a nice to have, the critical aspects of the application are

1. Quality of work experience evidenced through resume and supporting recommendations.
2. Employer sponsorship - If you can get your employer to fork out some money or sign a sponsorship form, it provides incredible strength to your candidacy.

and based on my interaction with EMBA students, there are 2 other factors that play a huge role.

1. Brand name of the employer
2. Fanciness of your job title
