If you see it like ,yes we have the same chance. But if you assume that the quality of candidates interviewed is the same between the two rounds, we should be better off, because we did not get dinged the first time. Which would mean that we are above the average person who gets extended an interview. Everything else being equal...

Not sure if my logic is fool proof, or if I am just being too optimistic...

Please keep in mind that some people who are accepted to Wharton in R1 have also offers from Harvard and Stanford. So propably they will matriculate there and leave spots for waitlisters:)) keep hopes high

As the R1'ers remember, there was a certain 'drop-dead' date where if you hadn't received an interview invite at that point, you got dinged. I wonder if any of the current WL'ers will be dinged at that 'drop-dead' date for R2, or whether it will only be the R2'ers that weren't selected to receive an interview.

Looks like that's not the case since said day was today. I suppose after 5 months of waiting on a post-application decision, another can't be that hard.

you are right about that. the wait seems to never come to an end. I just hope that they will give out clear decisions for the waitlisters. To be put on the rd 2 waitlist will be the worst thing. I hope decisions will come out a bit earlier than march 26th, just like they did rd 1, and rd 2 last year. not that a few days will make a huge difference. good luck everyone.

also, I wonder how many people accepted offers from other schools, ie Harvard, Stanford, Chicago and have withdrawn their application. When is the deposit due for rd 1 for Wharton? I imagine the adcom is waiting to see how many people actually enroll before going over the waitlist.

Deposit isn't due until something like May for both R1 and R2 acceptees. This is irrelevant anyways, since they have a summer WL for exactly this issue.

Bump!

Has anyone heard anything from Wharton regarding R1 folks on the waitlist? 2 BW members are reporting they got in early but my understanding from reading prior threads on S2S and talking to friends who were waitlisted --> admitted is that they hear back on the decision date. I'm not sure what to believe.

Haven't heard anything yet. My understanding was that decisions for the WL will be released with R2 decisions.

I have the same understanding, we will hear at the same time as the R2 candidate. Now, if they are release R2 decisions as well that's a different story.

The MBA Blog there talks about the waitlist, and reminds everyone to hang tight.

I'll come play for you in lieu of Admitted Student's Weekend if you want. And I would think that those early waitlist calls on BW have to be trolls or something, Wharton's decisions haven't been rolling in the past. But perhaps with the huge waitlist this year things have changed.

Man, it has been a long wait, but we are almost there...

Audio, I don't play Rugby, but if admitted, I promise I will come watch the games!
