Withdrew from Wharton in favour of HBS today, best of luck guys

Anyone hear any news?

Nothing here. I think what they meant by 'Monday updates' is that if they are going to let you know of a status change, they'll do it on Mondays, as opposed to a regular Monday email saying 'still WL'd'.

Saw over on the BW forums that someone off the R2 Waitlist got an acceptance call today.

Any news from anyone else?

Nothing I've heard. Odd considering that they specifically said in their last WL email about how decisions would be released on Mondays.

"All waitlist candidates who do not ask to be removed from the list will be reconsidered for admission on an ongoing basis with decisions being released every Monday beginning Monday 6 April, 2009 and ending no later than Monday, 27 July, 2009. Decisions include: admit waitlist, and deny waitlist. No change in your letter means you are still on the waitlist."

I'm pretty much not expecting to hear anything until May when R3 decisions come out. If I'm still not admitted at that point I'm likely going to start 'finalizing' Duke, e.g. putting my apt deposit down and so forth.

Looks like I still have a few more months of waiting...

For R1 and R2 waitlisters, today wasn't our day. They told us after R2 that we'd be re-evaluated every Monday until July 27 unless we heard otherwise. Today was just the notification day for R3. I guess they just felt like updating all of us.

I assume no R1 or R2 waitlisters got cut today?

i guess i have nothing to loose by waiting out. either ways, i am packing my bags and moving to the states

I just read on the BW forum that Wharton is expanding their class to 850. Is this old news? I wonder what kind of activity we'll see tomorrow...

That is the first time I've heard this. Should make waiting tomorrow more interesting.

It could simply mean they had a higher than anticipated response to offers which forced them to expand the class size. Thus nothing useful for us

I've found it interesting because schools have been emphasizing how the economic environment this year would create uncertainty in the yield. For awhile I thought that was good news for the waitlist, but instead it seems it's gone the other direction.

You could be right though and tomorrow will be a big day. But who knows?

The link to my waitlist letter has disappeared. Maybe we'll finally get some news today. It's only been 5 months....

just to clarify, were you put on teh summer waitlist on the 14th?
