Does anyone know if there is a contingency plan for people who have scheduled an interview on a day the school is closed?

I am planning to fly to Wharton next week for my interview. The trip is around 13 hours so I am hoping it will not be cancelled mid flight!

Does anyone know if there is a contingency plan for people who have scheduled an interview on a day the school is closed?

The weather for next week looks promising. A mix of sun and rain, but no snow. So hopefully you'll be ok. I would keep an eye on the weather as the date nears and if you think there will be any issues, call the Admissions Office. I'm sure they have gone through this type of stuff in the past. Good luck!

not at all! Wharton sends out interview invites over the course of a month. They send invites every Tuesday from January 28 to February 25. There are still two more interview release dates so there are two more opportunities for you to receive an invite. Also, it is important to note that because they have experienced quite a bit of severe weather, it is likely they have been more bogged down than usual and may have thus sent out less invitations on the first three dates. So the moral of the story is... no reason to think an invite isn't forthcoming. Good luck!!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have gotten dings without interviews at Columbia and HBS so am really disheartened. So far I have one admission with scholarship from a top 16 school and am waiting to hear about interviews at MIT and Wharton. I thought that as a woman with an interesting background and strong leadership/community involvement, I would have a good chance of getting an interview at some of these schools. But I guess nothing is guaranteed since the competition is so fierce!

I am debating which schools to apply to Round 3.

I received an interview 2 days before the last release date, and I know people who received invites on the last day (ie the same day that the dings went out for non interviews) that were later admitted to Wharton. So the fact you havent heard yet IMHO doesn't mean anything. Hang in there!

most important points for lauder candidates to convey during the interview? what are the criteria being evaluated (and how does that relate to the general wharton evaluation)? (not just what their site says...)

Thanks for your feedback. This is an issue that might impact other candidates in future (although the weather this week looks OK for me).

And congrats on your matriculation to Wharton. I hope to follow in your footsteps next month but certainly taking nothing for granted.
