Wharton Career stats - Just 57% Campus [#permalink]

Just looking at Wharton's Career stats and found that just 57.3% offers are from campus...for such an Elite school

Actually, I believe that the percentage is so small because it is such an elite school. Only 1/3 of Stanford's students find their jobs through on campus recruiting. The reason is that many students from these 2 schools are looking for positions above and beyond what is offered on campus. Hedge funds, private equity funds, sports management, etc. Truly, for the best students at these schools, a job with Goldman Sachs or McKinsey is a fall-back position.
You don't get a venture capital job from a job fair on campus. You get it by calling them up, saying "I'm from Stanford/Wharton" and I would like an interview with you.

It would be useful to find out how many students received offers through OCR but turned down these offers in favor of the job they found through their own search efforts.
Stanford asserts that only 20% of students obtained their employment through OCR and 53% found employment through all forms of Stanford-facilitated activities.
UCB asserts that 77.2% of jobs were obtained from "Haas-facilitated Activities". This category is more inclusive than Wharton's OCR category but even if we sum the relevant sources listed for Wharton we still get less than 77% (and, of course, less than Stanford's 53%). On the other hand, only 59% of students are listed as finding their internship through the Haas-facilitated Activities.

Posted the link , not to dis-credit the Ultra-Elite wharton but to show that the Bulk of recruitment that happens in the school facilitated recruitment goes for Banking/Consulting ....

I'm glad you posted it because it opened up an interesting line of inquiry regarding sourcing for different types of job candidates. It is one of those odd ironies- the students at the top cluster schools have some of the very best OCR opportunities yet they have less need for them since they tend to have stronger networks than other students (which in part helped these students gain admission to the top cluster school in the first place).
