Wharton Interview - what does it mean? [#permalink]

Hello,

I have submitted an application to Wharton for round 2.

I hear that people are getting interview invitations for Round 2.

Can you tell me the significance of the interview?. Wharton has published in its blog that it had ~3300 round 2 applications.

Does anyone know what percent of candidates (historically or current data) are invited to interview?, and approximately what percentage of those interviewed in round 2 get offers of admission?

Since the interview is by invitation only, does it mean that the applicant has already received some approval on the rest of their applications, eg. GMAT, GPA, Essays?, or is the interview just another component, after which everything will be reevaluated?

Thank You

Last year Wharton interviewed 55% of its applicants pool. It doesn't break down its admit percentages by rounds. An interview invitation does mean that you have passed some kind of preliminary review. AFter you interview, however, your file is evaluated with the interview data as part of the mix. The interview is not a make-or-break event; it is additional data.

Good luck!
