Please can anyone tell me what are the career opp. for a MBA-MIS graduate?
Which route should i take to end up as a CIO :wink:

CIO positions in my experience usually have engineering based degrees (CS), not business (MIS). You could start out as a project manager and work your way up the food chain, but I wouldn't expect immediate gratification.

Seems to me that a whole bunch of people getting MBAs are trying to get away from MIS type positions.

I believe MIS people - more often than not - end up as BAs/SMEs. Further growth would mean project/team management and so on. I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem to me as the fastest route to a top position.

If you have an IT background, I'd say that an MBA in Technology/Systems/Operations is a better bet.
