10. What are the coordinates of point B in the xy-plane above ?
(A) (6, 12)
(B) (6, 28)
(C) (8, 20)
(D) (12, 20)
(E) (14, 28)

base is 28
height is 28
therefore B or E
since it DID NOT say it is not to scale, we can eyeball this and say its B.

how do we solve it using triangle knowledge?

B. (6,28)

Since AB = BC any perpendicular line dropped the base splits it in half.
So the base is 14 + 14
From here we find x = 14-8 or 20-14
