What can I do now to improve my chances?

I'm looking at starting an MBA program in 2011 or 2012. I'd like to go to a top school with a focus on either general management or consulting. Since I have a year or two until I start the application process, I'm looking for advice on how I can strengthen my profile now. Any thoughts on my strengths and weaknesses as a candidate and advice on what I can do to improve it would be greatly appreciated.
Here's my profile:
I'm a 24 year old American male. I graduated with honors from a top 5 engineering university (class of 2008) with a bachelors in Chemical Engineering (GPA 3.23). GMAT score: 760 (Q49 V44 AWA 6.0).
I have 18 months of work experience for a large independent refining/chemicals company. I spent this time working as a plant engineer, but was recently promoted
to a business analyst position in the commercial organization. I'm be working directly for a VP (who is currently getting an EMBA from Wharton), so I have an opportunity to get a good letter of reference.
While working as a plant engineer, I volunteered through the local library in their homework help program. I also designed and taught an ACT prep course for local high school students. In my new location, I'd like to do something similar to this.
Thoughts on what I can be doing now to improve my profile in the time between now and when I start the application process?
Thanks much!
