What can I expect? [#permalink] New post 24 Oct 2010, 10:49
Hello all,

My GMAT date is approaching quickly (Nov 8). I just want to get people's input on what I can expect based on my CAT performances.

Some background on my prep...
I took MGMAT from June-August. Since August, I've been studying about 2hours/day on my own. Completed most of OG12, Verbal review, and Quant review books. I used PowerScore CR, and am going through PowerScore SC now (MGMAT SC was too heavy for me).

I'm aiming for a 700+.

Here are my CAT results from MGMAT. I plan to take GMATPrep in the coming days.

June 13, 2010 (pre course): Q40, V34 610
July 28, 2010 (post course): Q37, V33 580 (began panicking! hah)
Sept 3, 2010: Q48, V35 680
Oct 9, 2010: Q46, V40 700
Oct 23, 2010: Q47, V36 680
Oct 24, 2010: Q47, V42 720

After taking the MGMAT CATs, I feel that the questions are somewhat different than the OG (esp for quant). The quant seems more difficult. In fact, some of the quant seems impossible in 2 minutes. The question prompts for some are as long as CR paragraphs hah

It looks like my quant range is 46-48 while my verbal is still fluctuating (highly depends on type of SC, which is my weakest). I typically finish 5-15 minutes early on verbal, but quant is VERY tight.

EDIT:
GMATPrep 1 Oct 30, 2010: Q44 V40 690
GMATPrep 2 Nov 5, 2010: Q47, V38 700

I think 700 is there ! Based on the V42 in MGMAT I think you are good for V44 in real exam which an elite score in Verbal. Yeah quant is on the lower side - but i think if you can manage Manhattan then you can be in 99% on the real exam) i.e. Q50 or Q51

I believe Q51 and V44 is 770 ( 99% )

All the best ! :)

Wow.. to be frank, a 700 would make me happy. Anything extra is bonus!

So quant in MGMAT is harder than the real exam?

I'll provide a full debrief after I write.
