Should be C as "concern" is plural so we need "are".

Should be 'C'.
Maintains correct subject-verb agreement and parallelism.

Its a 2/3 split

I go with "is" as concern is singular

what should we consider here - "concern" or "risks"
"concern is" but "risks are"
which one is correct ?? Comments plz

Between B & D
D => not || ...wrong list

I go with B

The subject phrase -'What concern scientists the most about global warming' is plural not singular.

Go with 'C'

Typical case of subject -verb flip

Here, verb(concern) comes before the subject(risks)

flipping it => the risks concern scientists the most ..

Thanks for the discussion. I had selected B.

OA is C.

In the opening clause "what concern scientists", the plural verb concern follows what. Additionally, what serves as the subject of the main clause, "what.....are the risks".

A. are the risks that the polar ice caps will melt, the seas will grow too warm to sustain marine life, and that violent weather patterns may result.

B. is the risks that the polar ice caps will melt, that the seas will grow too warm to sustain marine life, and that violent weather patterns may result.

C. are the risks that the polar ice caps will melt, that the seas will grow too warm to sustain marine life, and that violent weather patterns may result.

D. is the risks that the polar ice caps will melt, the seas will grow too warm to sustain marine life, and that violent weather patterns may result.

E. are the risks that the polar ice caps melting, seas growing too warm to sustain marine life, and that violent weather patterns may result. - Use of "ing" - is not encouraged.

I thought like this

B & D - Subject Verb Agreement. "is" should not be used. There should be "are"
Left with A, C & E

E - Use of "ing" - is not encouraged.

Left with A & C

let's look at the construction of C.
....are the risks X, Y and Z

Now let's also look at the construction of A
...are the risks that X, Y and that Z
A - seems to say that Z may occur 'coz of X & Y. Context is changed.

Hence C is the answer.

This problem is pretty old and flawed.

'What concern scientists' is imprecise.

Noun clause should be singular. The correct construction should be:

What concerns scientists ... is... (correct list: that X, that Y, and that Z)
What concerns scientists the most about global warming (option B)
