Considering many of us will be looking for jobs shortly, it's definitely something in the back of the mind. A good economy means more jobs, more alternatives for job seekers and more money. Let's not even talk about what might happen if the economy goes in the cr@pper.

I think what I worry most about is if companies start performing poorly with no outward indicators. That might cause themt to pull back on hiring even as they maintain a bright and sunny outlook.

I keep waiting for the stock market to pull back, but it really rebounded strongly after last weeks sell-off. It seems like if they can get a handle on the credit markets and the sub-prime mortgage sector, the market might just keep heading up.

as long as I don't face the 2001 dot com bust in the Silicon Valley again when I get my MBA, I'm happy. 20 interviews over 3 months and no offer... from a top engineering university with good grades... imagine how that felt :(

Let's hope for the best in 2009 and 2010!

I'm not even thinking about the job market yet. If my stocks keep getting pummeled by Optimus Subprime, I won't even have enough money to pay for the rest of my tuition!

But I guess that won't matter when I become the Optimus Prime of Banking, being 1000ft tall and able to shoot M&A lasers from my elbow.

the economic data is pretty crazy. IMO, I think the world markets are adjusting to globalization. The US is the bellwether, but this is shifting. The value of the greenback is a bit spooky as well. Overall, I think it will all be crazy until Spring 2008
