What does it mean if a business school contacts you [#permalink]

I was just wondering what is the significance of a business school sending an emails me. After I took my gmat, I did not send my scores to any school, but a number of schools sent emails inviting me to visit, sit in on chats, etc. Of these schools one of them I would be ecstatic to get into. Is it like undergrad, where they just send information to all candidates with standardized test scores above a certain score, and it essentially not really mean anything? Or is it more meaningful?
I'm in the same boat, with a preliminary interview lined up with one of the schools on Tuesday. it'd be great to know the answer to this!
To my knowledge they are simply sending emails to people with an GMAT above a certain score -- unless of course you signed up with the school for something, in which case they are following up on your interest.
