What if laid off after application was turned in? [#permalink]

So I am going to be let go from my employer (along with over 1,000 others) in early May. I have been waitlisted to one school and haven't heard back from 2 others.
Do I inform the school I was waitlisted from about this? If so, when?
Because of this layoff I am going to move back east after a 2 year stint on the west coast so I am going to need to change my contact info eventually anyhow.
It really stinks because we have offices in NY hiring and my boss flat out told me she is hesitant to recommend me for a position (they are moving her to NY) because I might end up leaving to go to school soon after!

I recall seeing threads on this topic before and I recall the consensus being that you don't have to update the schools. Now I'm not sure if that applied to waitlisted students as well, so I guess I'm bumping your thread in case anyone else can answer it.  Sorry about the lay-off by the way.

Is there chance that you will:
1. Not get into any BS?
2. Not get financing for MBA..loan, own funds, etc?
If so, you should be honest with the persons making the decisions for the position about above. I am sure they will understand that there is a very good possibility that you might not be going to school since competition for spots and funds are difficult in this economy.....
