I started my own company about two and a half years ago. I've been running it since its foundation. During that time I got a job offer from a big Bank which I accepted and worked for it for some months. After some months of doing both things, I got laid off from the bank beacause my position was no longer necesary. By these days I am still running my business. I've been thinking if I should put this banking experience in my resume/application or If I should just omit it. What would the adcoms think about it ? what would be the consecuence if I don't mention it ? I don't live in the US but I'm still afraid that it comes out in the background check.

Include it. If your "omission" comes out in a background check, your could find your offer to attend withdrawn. There is less of downside to just telling them. A layoff from a bank within the last few years is nothing to be ashamed of.
