The official colors are of Springfield State University, taupe, and of Springfield Polytechnic, mauve, but neither are seen often on student clothing.
A. The official colors are of Springfield State University, taupe, and of Springfield Polytechnic, mauve, but neither are

D. mainly is about llism. none and neither both are correct. in d you can use none as well.
the other choices have some sort of nonparallel structure

A: the official colors are of... awkward and ungrammatical
B: none is inappropriate here. that should be used somewhere in b to establish the official color of Poly.
C: neither are is not correct
E: none is incorrect
D: that refers to the offical color, neither is, is correct.
