Hi guys,
I failed.. Seems like the end of the world....Scored a pathetic 670(M49,V31)

I started my preparation in Oct mid with the dreams of making it atleast in the 700 circle..But destiny had it otherwise..The preparation started with Princeton Review..After completing its chapters when i gave the first full test i was shocked. 500...thats it..Tests in which fellow boarders where hitting 700+ and saying that Priceton is the easiest, i cudnt even manage to salvage some pride... Then i intensifed my efforts by hitting Kaplan, taking a test once in a while, but the scores somehow were not improving..In Nov end i decided to hit the OG as everyone here has suggested....Practiced OG for almost a month , reviewed the problem..once in a while surfed GMATclub, but not much for solving problems, but for reading stories about how others scored and trying to find a boarder who scored less like me , but still was able to hit the magic mark...

I dont know what to do..To give it a shot again or forget about it...The heart says that its possible, it was just that i panicked...and the mind says that forget it, you cant improve beyond a limit...Thats your limit...

Folks , please advice.

Before considering whether to retake the GMAT, ask yourself - what are the ave and median scores for those schools that you are targeting? How are the rest of your portfolio (GPA, recommendations, essays, etc.)? If other aspects of your portfolio is quite strong, a 670 should be good enough.

Very nicely said.

670 is a very good score...consider this is your first time.

Take a break from it and enjoy the new years! Come back next year with a vengence!

I saw your score THCM and i am also going through the same feelings that you would be in. Now its not a question of seeking admission, it has become a question of proving to oneself...For 2 months i was just dreaming of that magic figure.I wont say that my efforts were optimum, but they were decent enough..Somehow i am getting this feeling to try it one more time and nail it down... What are your plans?

Thanks tkkoh for your advice.
I am an engineer(Computer Science) with a master degree (Information Technology) to credit.. GPA in undergrad and masters is 3.6

5 years of work experience in IT
Currently working as a Proj Manager / Functional Consultant.
The schools that i was targetting was Univ Of Chicago , Kellogs and Insead.
Any ideas what would be the score they might expect?

670 is not at all a bad score, very decent score.

Congratulations, I feel you can pull it to 700+ in your 2nd attempt, you can go for the kill again.

Congrats dude!

You do have a decent score. Evaluate your overall application strength and apply if you think you have a good career background.

Since you came so CLOSE to the summit, there is no reason why you cannot CONQUER it.

Go drink, enjoy and get ready for your Second Encounter!!

thats what i am doing..I took my test dates for 31st jan and this time i am planning to hit this forum more often in my studies..
