What is the area of rectangle ABCD?

1) Diagonal AC is twice as long as side CD
2) Diagonal AC is .1 meters longer side AD

Let AB = x and BC = y
=> AB = CD = x and
BC = AD = y

AC = Sqrt(AB^2 + BC^2) = x^2 + y^2
Area = AB * BC = xy

STAT1:
AC = 2x
=> AC^2 = 4x^2
=> x^2 + y^2 = 4x^2
=> y = sqrt3 * x
But we dont know the value of x and y. SO NOT SUFFICIENT

STAT2:
AC = .1 + AD
sqrt(x^2+y^2) = .1 + y

square and solve we get
x^2 = .01 + .2y

we still don't know what x and y are so NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining STAT1 and STAT2 we have two equations and two unknowns so SUFFICIENT.

Hence, answer will be C.

Hope it helps!
